Andrew Williamson

Andrew wasn’t thrilled with the typical college experience, so decided to take a leap of faith and begin working on construction sites. But then he went back to school, before spending four years in the film industry in LA. Having given Hollywood a try, Andrew moved from LA to Portland, where he became a carpenter. He worked at a firm in Portland where he was first exposed to the concepts of Passive House.

After relocating to Lawrence, Kansas in 2021, Andrew started remodeling homes, focusing on basement and bathroom projects. He now serves on Kala’s carpentry team. During college basketball season, Andrew and his wife enjoy taking their two kids to KU basketball games – which are just five minutes away at Allen Fieldhouse – and hanging out with family and friends. The rest of the time, he summarizes as “kids, golf, and guitar.”
