Justice Brown

Carpenter

Justice grew up in Lone Jack with a close knit family, and now lives in Raytown, which he considers “in town enough.” He went to school for drafting and design, but found himself discontent with the idea of working at a desk all of the time.

As a kid, his dad and grandpa would flip houses and Justice found himself excited to help out. Demolition was by far his favorite part of the jobs. Can’t argue with him on that one.

Justice’s journey to Kala was serendipitous. He stumbled upon the Kala website and found the company to have values and goals that seamlessly aligned with his own. The idea of working with people at a company that genuinely cared about their craft and their impact on the world sounded like exactly what he was looking for. He’s found value in the details that matter at a Kala jobsite - he’s noticed that things are done in specific ways to make the job easier for the next team member or trade that comes along.

One thing that has surprised him on the jobsite is the amount of tape, and the precision it has to be applied with, that is required when building a high performance home.

Outside of work Justice is likely hanging out with his three roommates, their neighbors, or his family. He also dabbles in film photography and spends several nights a week at church activities. Tuesday is community night, Wednesday is class, and Thursday night is dinner at his grandparents house, you get the picture.
