Framing Carpenter

Job Description

Delivering the world’s most comfortable, healthy, durable, and sustainable buildings require creative design, technical expertise, and dedicated craftsmanship. To meet this exacting standard, the Kala team has unified architecture and design emphasizing aesthetic beauty, functional living, and modern building science, with an in-house construction team trained in the precision assembly of the thermal, vapor, water, and air control layers that make high-performance buildings function as intended within the defined budget.

The most critical part of constructing a high performance building is its envelope. With walls that are 10” thick, airtight, super-insulated, and configured with windows that are thermally broken, a Kala structure is durable and technically precise and requires a team of carpenters dedicated to the craft of high performance building. The Framing Carpenter is a key member of that framing team and is responsible for executing framing details, air sealing techniques, and insulation strategies that meet the precision standards required for a high-performance structure.

Kala will ensure you are certified as necessary, receive the continuing education required, and are trained in high-performance building particulars. It is important that you arrive with a desire to create a long-term positive impact through the built environment, and are ready to work with a team of like-minded individuals.
