A key member of the Kala team is the Finish Carpenter who is responsible for delivering high-quality, complex carpentry solutions across a wide range of tasks including trim, basic cabinet construction and install, light framing, exterior cladding, and other tasks needed to complete build projects. The Finish Carpenter communicates closely with the Lead Carpenter to ensure Kala standards are met but must be able to work independently on jobs, maintain schedule integrity, and guide apprentice carpenters on the job site as needed.


This position requires an uncompromising attention to detail to ensure every project meets Kala’s design standards and brand promise. Responsibilities



  • Perform finish carpentry tasks, including installation of doors, windows, trim, baseboards, crown molding, wainscoting, cabinetry, built-ins, shelving, and stair component hardware and other finishing elements
  • Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and project specifications
  • Measure, cut, and assemble wood and other materials with accuracy
  • Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and other trades
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Ensure all installations meet Kala quality and performance standards


Requirements



  • 10 years of increasingly complex carpentry experience
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and proper insurance 
  • Ability to use a ladder, operate hand tools and lift up to 50lbs 
  • Must be aware of building codes, design standards and inspection regulations
  • High School required. Post secondary training highly encouraged 
  • Learn and use new technology, including Apple programs and apps
  • Handle multiple priorities, duties, and responsibilities simultaneously
  • Adapt and respond to changing work objectives and priorities
  • Strong leadership skills with high ethical and moral standards
